Well, as everyone knows, Colleen and I packed our bags, hopped in the car and drove South. We have been in Florida now for about a month and it is fall in Florida. Summer is over, but fall here is not the same as it is in Idaho. We have had cooler temperatures, maybe we brought them with us, and the evenings can be down right chilly. Colleen takes a jacket everywhere we go, it is either cool out, (rare), or cold inside from the A.C.. We have been able to eat on the patio at resturaunts regularly. Highs are USUALLY 68-78. Anyway, nuff said.
Joey is doing well. His short term memory is still quite poor, but he is stronger physically. He is able to walk with the aid of a walker, and in the office, he moves around without it until Shirley sees him! She is (rightfully) concerned about his falling, as he has a few times.
Gail and Jackie stay busy with work and an occasional singing job. Those seem to pick up over the holidays. Colleen and I went down Saturday for one. It was out in an open barn. kind of a family/neighborhood fall carnival with music, food, games, hayride etc.
We have gone with Mike a time or two to deliver boats. They are cool. He takes them to local ports. The boats are very large, usually requiring 'escorts' to get people out of the way so they don't get run over. The routes are weird because they are too large/tall to fit under many overpasses on the interstates, so you have to go around large loops to avoid one overpass.
Debbie works driving a big dumptruck hauling asphalt. She says it has been slow but hopefully it will pick back up soon.
I will get some pictures and add them so you can see why we came. Miss you all.
